Guilty plea entered in case of mortgage and debt management scheme

LANSING — A guilty plea was made in the case of a man accused of taking part in a mortgage and debt management scheme in Oakland County.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced that Pasquale Longordo, 39 of Birmingham, and his company, Modify Loan Experts, LLC, pleaded guilty to two felonies and 27 misdemeanors for stealing money from Michigan residents who were facing mortgage foreclosures or needed help managing credit card debt.

The charges stem from unfulfilled promises Longordo and his company allegedly made to victims, resulting in the loss of many of their homes. He also allegedly put victims’ money from his debt management service into a bank account and used it like a personal ATM.

Longordo is scheduled to be sentenced on September 27th.
