Great Lakes Rodeo, rounding up new ideas

MARQUETTE COUNTY — Spring time means rodeo time in the U.P.  The Great Lakes Rodeo will be celebrating ten years this June, during Fathers Day Weekend and they want to make this years rodeo is better than ever. So, they’re asking for you to help them round up a good time.

Great Lakes Rodeo is just a few months away and while planning is in the works, they have an online survey where you can give your opinion on what you would like to see added. Although they aren’t short on new ideas themselves.

Great Lakes Rodeo, President, Jesie Melchiori mentions some ideas that are being discussed currently, “Well there is talk of maybe a concert, adding specialty acts and different events throughout the weekend, really excited and we are open for anything this year.”

So round up your best ideas and visit their online survey, which Jessie says should take just about two minutes. But there are some things that won’t change.

“No matter what we are not going to change that it is a non–profit organization raising funds for youth development in Marquette County. This is just an awesome fun–filled weekend for families. You can come out and spend the weekend camping, hanging out with friends, there are barn dances, speed events and the actual rodeo so we are really excited and those things won’t change,” continued Melchiori.

To date the Great Lakes Rodeo has raised thirty thousand dollars for Marquette County youth development. The survey can be found at www.GreatLakesRodeo.com.
