DNR conservation officers and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are trying to find out who may have poached a gray wolf.

The agencies say they believe it happened sometime between October 16th and the 23rd in either Baraga County or southern Houghton County.

Gray wolves were recently returned to the federal endangered species list.

This particular wolf had a radio collar so it could be tracked.

The collar was found in Baraga County near Froberg Road and the Sturgeon River.

If you know more about what happened to it, you can call the DNR at 1-800-292-7800, or the Fish and Wildlife Service at 1-989-686-4578.

The 2 agencies are offering a reward of up to $4,500 if that information leads to a conviction of the poacher or poachers.
