Good Samaritan Hurt in Car Accident

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department is also investigating a personal injury crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

This is a case in which one of two good Samaritans was injured.

It happened just after 1 this afternoon on Wright Street in Marquette Township near County Road HQ.

Police say two young men from Marquette were helping the driver of a vehicle stuck in the snow.

20-year-old Paul Tahtinen of Pelkie lost control of his vehicle, hitting the good Samaritans.

20-year-old Brian Kelsey was taken to Marquette General with unknown injuries.

The other man, 20 year old Casey Apple, was not hurt.

Tahtinen was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.

The Sheriff’s Department says alcohol use was not a factor in the crash.
