ESCANABA — Today a local shelter held a golf outing to help raise funds for their cause and advocacy.

Tri-County Safe Harbor held it’s second annual golf outing today at the Escanaba Country Club.

The event was $65 a person and included green fees, lunch and a steak dinner. Participants could also purchase tickets for a fifty-fifty raffle and a bag raffle. People didn’t need to have golf experience, and they could learn as the go, just like when volunteering.

Tri-County Safe Harbor, Inc. Resident Advocate Lisa Simon says, “Our volunteers typically don’t have experience, you know, and the same even goes for interns, you know, we learn as we go, and we willing to have anyone volunteer and teach you along the way.”
