Gogebic County Drowning & Fatal Fire
2 people die in Gogebic County Saturday in a house fire and a drowning.
The fire happened at about 3:30 that afternoon on Vanderhagen Road in Ironwood Township.
Police, fire crews and EMTs found the house fully engulfed in flames and smoke.
They later found the body of the 53-year-old man who owned the home inside the structure.
At about 5pm, sheriff’s deupties were then told about a 3-year-old boy who’d been found unresponsive in Clark Lake in Watersmeet.
The boy was pronounced dead at Eagle River Memorial Hospital in Wisconsin.
Police are withholding the names of both the man who died in the fire, and the boy who drowned, until after their families are notified.
