Braves to face Decatur in baseball semifinals
The Gladstone Braves are set to play in their first ever MHSAA Division 3 state semifinal game on Friday in East Lansing. Gladstone started its baseball program just two years ago.
To see this team go this far in the Division 3 state tournament has been both mind blowing and exhilarating for Braves head coach Don Lauscher.
“It’s quite amazing how far we’ve come in just two years,” said Lauscher. “I’ve been saying all along it’s been a community effort. I’m just so proud of the kids.”
Gladstone takes on Decatur in the Division 3 semifinals at Michigan State University tomorrow at 2:30pm. Lauscher shared part of the message of what he will tell his team before they take the field against Decatur.
“Let’s control what we do. Put the bat on the ball, pitch well, catch well and don’t worry too much about what they do. Just control what we do,” said Lauscher.
