Girl Scouts start 2014 cookie sale

Today is the start of Girl Scout cookie time! The Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes will be at the Westwood Mall in Marquette Township this evening, selling their delectable goodies.

From Thin Mints to Peanut Butter, Girl Scouts will be out and about ringing bells, knocking on doors and setting up tables at local businesses selling their famous cookies. Along with all of the old favorites, there’s also a new cookie, the Cranberry Citrus Crisp.

“I like the Cranberry Citrus Crisp,” Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes community development coordinator Jill Rady said. “It’s going to be a good coffee dunker; it does have an orangey flavor to it. My favorite is still Thin Mints after all of these years. There is eight different cookies to choose from, so there is a way you can satisfy your sweet tooth and help out the Girl Scouts at the same time.”

The sales from the cookies earn the girls badges besides raising money to support their troop activities. If the girls miss your door, you can always find them online here. The website also has a cookie locator, where you can find a cookie booth to make sure you don’t miss your cookie fix.

Cookie sales run until the end of March.
