Some local long–time businesses have adapted to this new technology.
Case in point: Getz’s Clothiers.
The Marquette-based company was founded in the 1880’s.
Getz’s manager Dennis Mingay says the company went tech–savvy about 10 years ago with a customer-friendly website.
VP of marketing and commerce John Spigarelli says nearly two-thirds of the company’s revenue now comes in from the website, so broadband internet access has been a big factor for the business.
With President Obama visiting Marquette two days from now, Getz’s Clothiers isn’t surprised to hear about NMU’s WiMax recognition.
They believe a widespread connection can help businesses expand.
Within the last week, White House staff visited the store to see first-hand what it has to offer.
