Gas Prices On the Way Down Yet Again
The economic trouble plaguing Michigan and the country is still bringing continued good news in at least 1 way.
Prices at the gas pumps continue to fall all over the state and the nation.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Michigan is at its lowest point in 5 years.
The statewide average is $1.59 per gallon.
That’s down nearly a quarter since Thanksgiving.
As it usually does, the Marquette area still has the highest average price of the areas AAA surveys.
It’s between $1.70 and $1.75, depending on where you look, but mostly on the low end of that range.
Gas prices in the U.P. have fallen nearly 60% since mid-July, when a gallon would run you as high as $4.25.
Right now, the national average is $1.62.
