Garage fire in Escanaba

 A late night garage fire has caused damage to multiple buildings in Escanaba.  The Escanaba Public Safety got the call at 11 pm last night about the fire on south 8th Street.The garage complex was used for the apartment buildings on the 300 block of South 8th Street and was located next to the alleyway.

Upon arrival part of the garage was engulfed in flames and quickly spread throughout the garage complex. The fire also damaged the apartment buildings near it and garages across the alley from where the fire originated. Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by Ford River Township Fire Department, Delta County Sheriff Department, Michigan State Police, Rampart and Red Cross.
