Future Huskies ready for MTU

For most of the 78 players that played in the U.P. All-Star Football Game on Saturday, that was the final game of their careers.

Seven of the all-star players will continue playing football for the next 4-5 years and they will all play together at the same school.

Michigan Tech will have 31 true freshman on the team when practice begins next month.

Head Coach Tom Kearly recruited nine of those players from the Upper Peninsula.

During the all-star week, I had a chance to ask seven of the future Huskies why they decided to signup and play for Coach Kearly at MTU.

“I’m looking forward to being a Husky. I just like being in space and at the slot receiver they (MTU) said they needed a guy because a lot of them graduated,” said David Falish from Escanaba.
