MARQUETTE — The University Center at Northern Michigan University was filled again today, as NMU hosted the 26th annual Upper Great Lakes Collegiate Job Fair.

The fair brings together college students and alumni from Upper Peninsula institutions and over 85 participating employers from the Midwest to explore today’s job outlook. Many employers will be interviewing students for positions within their organizations.

Even if the students don’t land a job just yet, the fair aims to increase their networking and confidence.

“We’re hoping to help students feel a lot more career ready,” said Career Services Assistant Director Melissa Sprouse, “graduation is coming up, it’s right around the corner. So kind of helping them up their career confidence and also helping them realize that the world of work is not clearly defined by their major. There’s lots of opportunities no matter what major you have. So being able to go out there and make a name for yourself is really important.”

The next job fair at NMU will be the Construction Management and Technology Career Fair, which is held in September.
