Free Marquette Memorial Day Cruises

Marquette Harbor Cruises is sponsoring a Memorial Day tribute to veterans by offering free rides on the holiday.

They will be accepting donations in lieu of the usual $25 price for a cruise ticket.

Any donation made by a passenger that day will divided between the local Marquette County Warrior Relief Fund and the national Wounded Warrior Project.

The first cruise will be at 11 am, followed by as many subsequent cruises as the demand requires.

The first cruise is being timed to allow participants and supporters of the Second Annual Marquette County Warrior Relief Fund Memorial Day Walk to take part in the boat cruises.

The walk will also start and end in the Lower Harbor, with a start time of 9 am on Memorial Day.

Walkers are expect to wrap things up around 10:30.

Each cruise will be under two hours and will travel from Elwood Mattson Lower Harbor Park to Presque Isle and back.

Seating is limited to 85 passengers per trip, so if you’re interested, Marquette Harbor Cruises is encouraging you to call 225-9000 for a reservation.
