Free Dental Care Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. – Shanna from Neenah, Wisconsin expressed her thanks after driving 136 miles to get her tooth examined and treated by a professional dentist.

Dentistry From the Heart is a nationwide non-profit organization that provides dental care to those who need it.  Each year dentists from around the country donate their time and services to help those in need.  This organization started in 2001 and has seen great results since.

Dr. John Fornetti will be hosting his sixth annual Dentistry From the Heart on Saturday March 10th, 2012 where people will be able to choose between a filling, extraction or cleaning.

This year a team of 75 volunteers, six doctors and countless businesses hope Dentistry From the Heart will be a success.  This event is first come, first serve for people 18 years of age and older.  An early arrival is encouraged.  Last year people began lining up for the event at 1 p.m. the day before and camped out overnight, so please dress warm because the reception area is our outdoor parking lot.

Dr. John said, “I am hopeful that this event grows throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and goes beyond dentistry.”  A local pharmacy, The Drug Store, has already come forward and offered to donate all the prescriptions.  He continued by saying, “I am optimistic that we can turn this day from free dentistry to free healthcare.”

The event takes place at 100 S. Stephenson Avenue at the new John Fornetti Dental Center.  Doors will open at 8 a.m. and will close at 3 p.m.  The goal of the doctors and volunteers is to help as many people as possible.
