Forsyth Township youth face new curfew rules

FORSYTH TWP. — Youth in the Forsyth Township area will now have to follow a curfew.

The Forsyth Township Police Department decided to enforce the curfew ordinance after investigating some personal property damage incidents over the holiday weekend. Officers were called to the 400 block of Liberator to investigate a home invasion on the Fourth. The suspects had entered the home through an unlocked window and trashed the living room.

Two cases of damage to vehicles parked on the street were also reported and investigated. Both vehicles had their tires slashed and paint scratched. One vehicle had a mirror torn off and the rear wiper damaged.

Police believe the incidents are related. According to the Forsyth Police, there have been several other cases like these in the past weeks and all of them have taken place at night.

In response to the problem, minors under the age of 17 are not allowed out at night without adult supervision between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
