Former Red Wing makes U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame

Mike Modano, who is the NHL’s All-Time leading scorer among American born hockey players, was 1 of 3 people being named to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.

In 21 NHL seasons, Modano scored 561 goals and 813 assists for a total of 1374 points. He also won a Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars in 1999. Modano played for the Detroit Red Wings in the 2010-11 season, scoring 4 goals and 11 assists in 40 games played.

Joining Modano in the U.S. Hall of Fame will be Ed Olczyk and Lou Lamoriello.
