Former U.P. hockey player to appear in court

Former Calumet High School hockey player Ben Johnson will appear in a Canadian court later this summer. Johnson is being accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl outside of a Ontario night club in March of 2013.

According to Sports Illustrated and CBC News, Johnson will head to court in August. According to both sources, the trial is scheduled to begin in 2015.

Last month, Johnson signed a three-year, entry deal with the New Jersey Devils last month. The Devils selected Johnson in the third round of the 2012 NHL Draft.
