Former Terex Handlers Workers Get Federal Grant

Workers in Baraga are getting some help from the federal government.

The Labor Department says it’ll provide a $330,000 grant to help about 60 people who used to work at the Terex Handlers plant.

The grant will be operated by Western U.P. Michigan Works!.

It will provide affected workers with access to dislocated worker services, which may include basic skills training, individual career counseling and occupational skills training.

Terex Handlers produces construction equipment.

The company closed its facility in Baraga last December.
