Former NMU basketball player hired as LSSU assistant

A former Northern Michigan University women’s basketball player has just been hired as an assistant women’s hoops coach at Lake Superior State.

Mariah Dunham played at NMU as a senior in the 2009-2010 season after transferring from the University of Wisconsin.

Since graduating from NMU in 2011, Dunham has coached both boys’ and girls’ basketball at Baraga High School. She’s also a former volunteer coach at Finlandia University.

LSSU has also hired Grant Lofdahl, a former distance runner at Grand Valley State, as an assistant on both the track and field and cross-country teams.
