Former museum director charged with embezzlement

MARQUETTE — An embezzlement complaint by the Marquette Maritime Museum and the McClintock Recognition Project has resulted in the arrest in the museum’s former director.

Thirty-seven year old Carrie Sue Fries is charged with two counts of embezzlement – $1,000 or more but less than $20,000 from a Non-Profit or Charitable Organization and three counts of forgery. She was arraigned on the charges Friday.

Fries is due back in court for a preliminary exam on April 26th.
