Former Lion to speak at U.P. Football Game

Xcel Sports Training is very pleased to announce that former NFL veteran, Eric R. Beverly will be the Guest Speaker at the UP All-Star Football Game Banquet, which will be held on Friday, June 29, 2012, 6pm-9pm at the Bottom University Center at Northern Michigan University.

Beverly played for 10 years in the NFL, beginning at guard and center in 1997 with the Detroit Lions and then as tight end with the Atlanta Falcons from 2004 until his retirement in 2007.

During his stint with the NFL, Eric was also very active off the field by:
€ Completing the Harvard Business School¹s NFL Business Management &
Entrepreneurial Program
€ Serving as an elected team representative with the NFL Players Association
€ Interning with the Kmart Corporation, purchasing department
€ Establishing The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation to help breast cancer
survivors and family members
€ Volunteering in many other charitable efforts.

In 2008, Eric began his employment with The University of Georgia Athletic Association. He is coordinator of academics for football and academic counselor for soccer. Eric is married to former Munising resident, Danielle (Tiernan) Beverly.
