Former GLIAC star makes Packers roster

Preseason football is now in the rear view mirror. All 32 NFL teams made their final roster decisions over the weekend. In Green Bay, the Packers decided to keep a player that dominated in the GLIAC the past few years.

Former Saginaw Valley State wide receiver Jeff Janis was one of five wideouts the Packers decided to keep on their roster. The former Cardinal was just the fourth ever player from SVSU to be selected in the NFL draft.

Janis was considered a long shot to make the team when Green Bay selected him in the seventh round back in May. The 6’3″ inch wide receiver was very consistent for the Packers during the preseason. He caught a 33–yard touchdown pass against the Chiefs in Green Bay’s final preseason game on Thursday.
