JACKSON — A former priest accused of criminal sexual conduct crimes committed at a downstate school over thirty years ago has entered a plea.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced today 75- year–old James Francis Rapp pleaded ‘no contest’ to six criminal sexual conduct charges. The charges stem from time Rapp spent as a priest and teacher at Jackson Lumen Christi High School in the 1980’s.
In exchange for the no contest plea on those six charges, the prosecutor has agreed to drop the remaining thirteen charges. Rapp is scheduled to be sentenced in Jackson County Circuit Court on April 29th.
He faces between 20-40 years in prison.
