Foggy, wet start to the week

The cloud cover is slowly breaking up now, but we’ve had a foggy and wet beginning to the week.

Many areas of the U.P. received rain Monday, today or both.

Temperatures have been around 60 each of the last two days.

That’s a different story from the Lower Peninsula, where many locations are seeing temperatures near 90.

“With the high-pressure ridge coming in this weekend, (we’re) looking at slightly below normal temperatures with lows in the 30s and 40s, highs in the 50s and 60s up here,” National Weather Service forecaster David Petrovich said.

The clouds and chance of rain will be out of the way by about 12 noon on Wednesday, and then those cooler temperatures should be here on Thursday.
