Flu closes Mqt. Salvation Army office

The spread of the flu nationwide is affecting a U.P. nonprofit organization.

The Marquette Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign officially ended on Tuesday.

But the organization is unable to provide a final tally just yet.

Its social services office was closed today because of the flu.

The Michigan Department of Community Health is reporting continued widespread flu activity across the state.

Southwest, southeast and central Michigan are the hardest–hit areas.
