Firefighters swiftly quench deep fryer fire

GLADSTONE — A fire was quickly extinguished at a Gladstone fast food restaurant early Wednesday morning.

Gladstone Public Safety Officers say they were dispatched along with volunteer firefighters to the McDonald’s/BP station located on Lakeshore Drive shortly after 4:00 a.m. Officers observed heavy smoke inside the building and found that the fire had started in the deep frying system. They were able to swiftly put out the blaze. There were no injuries.

Public Safety and the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department were assisted by the Michigan State Police.
