Fire fighters in Norway responded to a fire at the Pollard Dairy Farm last night.

Officials from the Norway Fire Department say that they were called out to the scene shortly after 10 o’clock Central Standard Time. When crews arrived, the front a barn on the farm on County Road 573 was completely engulfed in flames. Crews were able to knock down the front porch of the barn and get the fire under control by 11 o’clock.

Around 70 percent of the barn was destroyed by the fire. All of the animals were removed from the barn unharmed, and there were no injuries or loss of life in the incident.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the cause of the fire was damaged electrical wiring. The damage to the wiring is thought to have been caused by snow.

The Norway Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Breitung Township Fire Department, Norway Police Department, and the North Alert Ambulance Service.
