Fire Concern at Day Care Center
There were some tense moments this morning at a day care center in Harvey after the staff smelled smoke.
Just before 8 this morning, firefighters from Chocolay Township were called out to the Chocolay Children’s Center.
Six children and staff inside the day care center evacuated the building in single-digit temperatures.
An electrical problem with a light fixture was the cause of the smoke.
The owner of the day care said an electrician was on site this morning and found no other electrical problems.
