Finlandia men’s hockey adds three recruits

Hancock, MI – Finlandia University men’s hockey coach Dane Litke has announced that PJ Partington, Ben Sveison, and Cody Wickstrom have committed to continue their education and hockey careers at Finlandia University starting in the fall.

PJ is a versatile player from Southampton, PA who can play both forward and defense. He comes to Finlandia after playing for the Warwick Devils.

“He has a good work ethic and will fit in well at Finlandia,” said Coach Litke.

Ben comes to Finlandia from Winnipeg, Manitoba and played hockey last season for the Winnipeg South Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). He was a captain last season for the Blues and helped lead the team to the Turnbull Cup.

“Ben brings a great work ethic and a never say die attitude to the rink every day,” said Coach Litke. “I like the fact that he is coming off a championship team and even better, he is a great kid.”

Cody, a Marquette, MI native, played last season for Fort Frances in the Superior International Junior Hockey League as a defenseman.

“Cody is a big defenseman with good offensive abilities and will be a nice addition to the Finlandia defensive core,” said Coach Litke.
