Final Route Info for Transmission Line Project

A company spokesman says a final route has been identified for American Transmission Co.’s proposed six-mile, 138-kilovolt transmission line in the Escanaba area. The route (Chandler-18th Road Project) will be discussed at a public open house on Feb. 1, 2012.

“We very much appreciate the willingness of local landowners and officials to work with us on siting this project,” said David Hovde, local relations consultant for ATC. “The new line will greatly improve electric reliability in the area.”

The new line will follow a route from ATC’s Chandler Substation northwest of Escanaba to a new substation located on NewPage mill property. To view a map of the project, visit www.atc-projects.com

ATC representatives will staff the open house between 2 and 6 p.m. at the Danforth Place, 4989 Danforth Road, on Wednesday, Feb. 1. No formal presentation is planned; interested individuals should drop in as their schedules permit.
