Federal Charges in Harvey Bank Robbery

A federal warrant has been issued against a 29-year-old U.P. man for the armed robbery of the Northern Michigan Bank in Harvey.

The armed bank robbery arrest warrant was issued this afternoon by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Marquette.

The man is in police custody in the state of Wyoming tonight.

Chocolay Township Police Chief Greg Zyburt says the name and hometown of the suspect have not yet been released.

The man’s vehicle was seen leaving the area of the Northern Michigan Bank and Trust immediately after the bank was robbed last Wednesday.

The man’s arrest by Wyoming authorities was based on a Michigan warrant charging the man with felony absconding.

Wyoming authorities are said to have recovered a portion of the robbery proceeds from the man’s vehicle.

The suspect’s wife has been cooperating with FBI investigators.
