Fatal ORV accident
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal ORV crash in Champion Township. The accident happened, September 8th, 2012 at 5:25 p.m. on the Clear Lake access road.
A 51 year old Ishpeming man was riding his four-wheeler toward Clear Lake, traveled around a curve that went downhill and lost control. The four – wheeler struck a tree on the shoulder of the road.
The victim was not wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Assisting at the scene was Bell Memorial EMS and Michigamme-Spurr Township First Responders. The crash remains under investigation.
