Fatal fire under investigation in Marquette Co.
An autopsy has been ordered and an investigation is underway after a deadly fire this morning in Marquette County.
The fire was reported at 5:12 a.m. at 2262 Moran Street in Marquette Township. When the Marquette Township Fire Department arrived, a mobile home was fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was under control, firefighters found the body of a deceased adult in the home.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post and fire investigators from the MSP 8th District Headquarters.
The Marquette County Medial Examiner’s Office is in charge of the autopsy.
