Fatal Car Wreck & Motorcycle Accident
A Gladstone woman is dead after an accident in her SUV this afternoon.
Gladstone Public Safety says the accident happened on M-35 near 17th Street shortly before 12:30 this afternoon.
The woman’s name isn’t being released, but police do say she was 34 years old.
She was driving a Chevy Blazer west on M-35 when she crossed the center line and hit an eastbound pickup truck.
The woman died at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
That’s not the only fatal crash to report, either.
Alcohol may be a factor in a motorcycle crash in Mackinac County that killed a downstate man.
It happened shortly after 9:30 last night on H-42 in Portage Township.

54-year-old Larry Hautala of Fife Lake lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle on a curve, left the road and hit several trees.
Two other bikers riding with Hautala were not involved in the accident.
Police are still investigating both accidents.
