Fast food special tied to U.P. cold temps is back
ISHPEMING — Sometimes, the best treatment for these frigid temperatures is a warm belly. A national fast food chain has just the deal to help you shake off the cold.
McDonald’s “Cold Days, Hot Deals” are back. When you a buy a Big Mac or a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, you can get a second one for the price of the previous day’s noon temperature at Sawyer International Airport.
With temperatures so often below freezing, the Ishpeming general manager sees customers hoping for even more bang for their buck.
“The most interesting one is, when it is below zero, are you actually going to pay me to eat a big mac? And its…no we’re not,” Paul Alto said.
But not to worry; you’ll still get the second sandwich for free.
“It’s just rewarding our customers for coming out on those cold days in the winter time instead of being bundled up at home or eating at a cafeteria at the workplace,” Alto added.
The deal began last week and will end on January 18th.
