MARQUETTE — A local Farmers Market has been ranked number one around Lake Superior.

According to Marketing Coordinator of Lake Superior Magazine, Siiri Branstrom, readers voted the Marquette Farmers Market number one. The magazine offers a reader’s choice vote for several different local categories in their Best of the Lake series every year, and this year was the first time it offered a farmer’s market category. The market continues to draw crowds every weekend, perhaps because of the variety of goods and services.

Market Manager Myra Zyburt says, “It’s a farmers market so we’ve got a lot of farmers, but we’re more than just a grocery market. We’ve got a lot of artisans here and some services, as well.”

One of those services includes massage–by–the–minute, if you need to take a break from shopping. The market has been open since May and will continue to open every Saturday, rain or shine, through December selling local and seasonal items. The farmers market will continue to hold events just about every weekend to offer locals and guests something new.
