Family Video Gathering Movies for Soldiers

What started in the Upper Peninsula as a local movie drive for soldiers has turned into a project spanning 19 states.

Family Video stores across the country will attempt to collect one million movies to send overseas to troops.

It started with the sister of a soldier trying to give her brother and his fellow troops a means to relax, and it’s now turned into a major company project.

Marquette store manager Barbara Lynaugh says the movies are all cleaned and checked before being sent over to the troops.

“Operation Entertain the Troops” will last through the end of the month.
