MARQUETTE — A Gwinn man originally charged with extortion and possession of child sexually abusive material pleaded to a lesser charge in Marquette County Circuit Court Friday morning.

18-year-old Phillip Robinson pleaded guilty to the charge of attempted extortion. This charge is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Robinson was arrested in January after an investigation into his possession of nude photos of local female victims, which he was accused of using to extort those victims.

He is scheduled to appear for sentencing on September 3rd.
