Students in the Baraga Junior-Senior High School soon may be able to stay after class and use the library.
Principle Jon Young outlined the proposal to the Board of Education last night. The library will be staffed by AmeriCorps members.
Young said the extended hours will help students who need to do research, or get tutoring… and will also help students who just need a place to do homework while waiting for after-school activities.
At the meeting last night, the board approved this year’s school calendar, which was also approved Monday by the teachers’ union.
The board also accepted the resignations of Tim Marczak as junior varsity football coach… Amy Ellenich as junior high cheer leading coach… and custodian Harlan Fish.
