MARQUETTE — Upper Peninsula seniors were treated to some information and fun Tuesday at the Holiday Inn in Marquette.

Seniors gathered for the 3rd Annual Senior Citizens Expo organized by the Mining Journal. The event provided senior citizens with a forum where they could socialize over lunch and learn topics relevant to senior living from a variety of speakers. The expo has been increasing in popularity since its inaugural year, thanks in part to the educational experience it puts forth.

“I think most of the seniors come to see the wonderful speakers that we have,” said Classified Manager Sharon Johnson. “Each one of them has a different topic that relates specifically to their age group, and they’re very informative.”

The topics covered gave attendees information about living a healthy life and planning for the future. Raffle prizes were also given out to a few lucky winners at the event.
