Everyone can enjoy biking on Trails Day

If the weather holds out this weekend, grab a bicycle and join in on the 4th annual Noquemanon Trails Day.

The event encourages kids, moms, dads, and grandparents to get out and discover the beauty of biking on the trails.  The day will be filled with contests and group rides for beginners, intermediate and advanced cyclists.

Plus, a very special trail is being introduced.

All kids need is a parent, a bike and a helmet.

“The whole idea behind taking a kid mountain biking day is to get families out on the trails,” Director of the Noquemanon Trails Network Nicole Dewald said. “Recently the Noquemanon Trails Network has made youth trail, it’s called the Grom trail, it has purple signs and it’s a kids trail.  It’s a lot of fun and it’s a great way to get your little one out there and start them mountain biking and it’s a great way to get in the woods this time of year as well.”

The event will take place at the South Trailhead on M-553, beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Trails Day will be moved to Sunday at the same time and place if there is rain.
