About a month ago, during a rummage sale, a conversation took place regarding the lack of a caretaker for the greenhouse and outdoor gardens at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
A promise was made to walk the grounds, look at the greenhouse and see what could be done. That was when Steve Finley got hooked. And with him, several others followed.
As many of you know, TMC put the word out that donations were needed to help stock the empty greenhouse. Various individuals from the TMC community have come forward to offer pots of all sizes, trays, compost and wood! Thank you!
The outpouring of support from staff at JHV (Jacobetti Home for Veterans) has also been amazing.
Come see the progress after just a few short weeks and find out why the future of the greenhouse is so exciting for JHV residents.
And if you have gardening stuff you want to donate to the project — bring it along!
Enter the parking lot on the left side of the JHV facility, proceed to the rear of the parking lot, go right and look for the greenhouse.
