This will promote the store, PakRatz (the thrift store whose proceeds fund the Harbor House, and other important programs run by the women’s center), as well as be the kickoff for the 100 Good Men campaign. Women’s Center Director, Beth Casady and others will be talking about the campaign and I am asking as many Team Captains to come to PakRatz that day and be interviewed by The Point about the campaign and why they support it.
100 Good Men Campaign:
The 100 Good Men Campaign was born out of the belief that men have a crucial role to play in the movement to end violence against women and girls. Each year, the Women’s Center serves roughly 900 individuals who had been affected by domestic violence or sexual assault. Through greater awareness of and by advocating for violence prevention at the community level, men are becoming part of the solution in ending what has become one of the most significant social issues of our time. We are hoping that a group of local men will stand with the thousands of other men across the country who have said, “Enough already!”
Dia de los Tacos will be on site, serving tacos, 11:00-3:00
