Ring out National Poetry Month with a nature-themed poetry reading in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library — Wednesday April 30 at 7 pm — featuring U.P. Poet Laureate Russell Thorburn and winners of our 2014 poetry contest, “Putting the Wild into Words.”
Reading will feature poetry inspired by personal connections with nature, wilderness, and the unique landscape of Upper Michigan. Thorburn, who served as the contest judge, is the author of five books of poetry, including Father, Tell Me I Have Not Aged (Marick Press), and Approximate Desire (New Issues Poetry).
Reading is free and open to the public!
