Lake Superior never gives up her dead, except for one night. On Saturday, October 25 witness the City’s third annual Halloween Spectacle. The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center and The Downtown Development Authority will again host an outdoor performance taking place after sunset at the Marquette Commons. This years’ theme, Spirits of the Lake, is in tribute to an original poem, written by the U.P. Poet Laurent, Russell Thorburn titled, “The Drowned Sailor’s Lament.”
Community members are invited to join in the procession at 6:40 pm, and depart from different locations that will parade to the Marquette Commons for the start of the performance at 7:00 pm. Choose from one of the following locations and travel with the different Spectacle groups: the Peter White Public Library, Lower Harbor Mattson Park, Harlow Park and the Rock Street Parking Lot.
