The 3rd annual Ride the Keweenaw event hosted by the Keweenaw Trails Alliance is scheduled for May 25 & 26.  Organizers say the event provides an opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy free guided rides at four area mountain bike trail systems and participate in a jump clinic at the Michigan Tech Trails and ground breaking ceremony for the Keweenaw Point Trail in Copper Harbor.  In addition, the Copper Harbor Trails Club will be hosting music and BBQ fundraiser in the Grant Township Park on Sunday evening.

On Saturday guided rides for all abilities and ages are scheduled at Michigan Tech Trails, Houghton (9 am), Churning Rapids Trail System, Hancock (12 pm) and Swedetown, Calumet (3 pm).  On Sunday, guided rides will be hosted in Copper Harbor at 10 am and 2 pm.  Due to the lingering snow pack, adjustments to the schedule may be made prior to the weekend of events to prevent damage to wet trails. Reservations are not required to take part in any of the ride activities however pre-payment for Sunday’s BBQ is required.
