Saturday, October 1, 10a-12pm and Sunday October 2, 1p-3p.
In four sessions over two days, participants will study and listen to poets reading their own poetry (i.e. Robert Frost, Carl Sandburg, Dorothy Parker, Gwendolyn Brooks), become familiar with use of poetic techniques (alliteration, metaphor, simile, rhyme, onomatopoeia, etc), and forms of poetry (couplet, Haiku, limerick, sonnet). Workshops will include experiencing and observing nature, writing poetry, and helpful critiquing of each other’s work. A booklet of poetry from the sessions will be published and distributed 4-6 weeks after the workshop.
Class Fee: $74.00 (includes materials)
Registration Deadline is September 24, 2016.
