Pictured Rocks Half-Marathon, Upper Peninsula (God’s Country)

June 26, 2016 8:00 am @ 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM

The Pictured Rocks Road Race is a U.P. racing tradition. There is both a half-marathon a 7.5 kilometer (4.6 mile) race.

Yes, the drive is far – (if you are coming from the Detroit area) so this is a weekend get-away trip, but it is soooo beautiful on the other side of the Mackinac Bridge in the UP! There is a reason why so many call the UP “God’s Country” – and it is because of the natural beauty of the land and water as well as that of the people who call the UP home. From home cooked pasties to the amazing beaches and water of Lake Superior to the wilderness beauty that is the U.P. – this is a great weekend trip.

Spend your spare time, biking or hiking some of the many hundreds of trails in the area – or enjoy time on one of the many beautiful beaches that line Lake Superior.

The races are “friendly competitive”…that is – about 100 or so people who are running and everyone who runs is encouraging everyone else during the race to finish and do their best – must be one of the friendliest races in the state – people are running to race and to have fun and to help each other!!
