The Marquette Senior High School Advanced Placement (A.P.) Biology classes are raising money for a trip to Chicago.
There are 40 students that have signed up to go on the trip along with several chaperones. Our trip is scheduled for May, after the A.P. exams.
We plan to visit:
Lincoln Park Conservatory
Lincoln Park Zoo
Argonne National Laboratories (this facility only conducts one tour per year, which has been granted to us)
The students are excited to learn so much on this trip, from meeting scientists that work in labs, to learning about different animals at the zoo.
Perkins has kindly allowed us to host a pancake breakfast at their restaurant. It’ll be on March 5th, 2016. Although the event will be hosted a while from now, we want the word to be spread sooner than later, and allow people to consider whether or not they would like to come before hands.
The event will run from seating people at around 8:45 a.m., until cleaning up tables at 3:00 p.m. The cost per person is $7.99 — this includes 5 Buttermilk Pancakes, 2 strips of bacon, and a drink (refillable coffee, soda, tea, or iced tea; a single small juice, milk, or hot chocolate).
Half the restaurant will be open for us, which is 23 seats, so it’ll allow many people to be come and join in on this pancake breakfast event. Please consider coming to this event, and bring as many people as you would like, such as friends and family!
If, however, you will not be able to attend, we also kindly ask if you would please consider donating: https://www.gofundme.com/5ubbrfek
The reason for this fundraiser is to raise money for those students whom are not as financially fortunate to pay for the whole price of this trip. It is quite costly, and any fundraising efforts is directly aimed at reducing the trip’s fees.
We appreciate everyone who will be joining us at Perkins on the 5th of May!
